The reason this song was not included on the original Machine Head album was because that pain in the ass Blackmore didn't like it. As for Smoke on the Water, it wasn't meant to be a hit when it was written, whereas with Never Before, that was the intention.

I agree if it means fantasic.Deep Purple is the best and will be always...

Yeah, I love it and think Ritchie's lead is outstanding. I saw an interview with Gillan, I think it was on the making of Machine Head DVD, and Gillan said it should've been included in the machine head album but Ritchie, he no like.

This song has been very underated for years. The blue'sy rythym is hypnotic and just great to listen to...and you don't have to been stoned or pissed to appreciate Deep Purple either. Some great guitar work on this song
