The problem with that set is that it won't trip from both sides equally well. You should face one notch upright one direction on the trail and the other notch upright the other direction on the trail. That way the game will always kick the trip bar out of the uprights.

7:42 i dont under stand how the stick connect that sets off the trap? did you cut knotches into them so they click together? please comment back im trying to make this and im getting really frustrated.
