Just hope that this serial combines both the first 6 kandas along with Uttarkand - unlike with Sagar's earlier serial.

One thing I didn't like about Sagar's serials was that whenever there was a discrepancy between Valmiki and Tulsidas, the latter usually prevailed e.g. Meghnad (rather than Ravan) downing Lakshman with the Shakti, Luv & Kush battling their uncles (something in Tulsidas but not in Valmiki), Hanuman meeting Bharat while carrying the mountain to Lanka, etc.

Result: At least 4 cities founded by Rama's nephews: I don't know whether Vidisha and Shravasthi pre-existed Shrutasena & Luv. Also, Kush was said to have founded a city in the Vindyas called Kushavati, which he then made his capital.

Somehow, this was different from the traditional custom of only the eldest son succeeding the throne: Rama was very eager that all his sons and nephews should inherit their kingdoms.

... This whole process was started many years after Sita's passing: Kaushalya, Sumitra & Kaikeyi died one after the other, and at the behest of the ruler of Kekaya, Rama sent Bharat along with Taksha & Pushkal to conquer Gandhara. Once that was done, the city of Takshashila (later Taxila/Rawalpindi) was founded, and Taksha was made its ruler. Similarly, the city of Pushkaravati (today's Peshawar) was founded, and Pushkal was made its ruler.

Rama's sons: Kush & Luv
Lakshman's sons: Chandraketu & Angad
Bharat's sons: Taksha & Pushkal
Shatrughan's sons: Subahu and Shatrughatee/Shrutasena

Kush was the main successor @ Ayodhya. All the others got other kingdoms. Luv got Shravasthi, Chandraketu & Angad got Himalayan kingdoms in Karapadudesh - the cities of Chandrakanth and Angadvad. Subahu succeeded Shatrughan in Mathura, while his brother was made the king of Vidisha...
