A video with Bukowski reading his poem "Bluebird."
There is beauty in sadness and death.
But there is beauty in laughter and life.
Nowadays I prefer to laugh and live than puke bile in a dark room.
Evolution.?
great poem and an awesome recital
By jackwardjw [Affiliate User] 1217852814I love this SO much. beautiful. So much said with so few words...
By RandomNonsenzRx [Affiliate User] 1217184901I think it's deeper than just being masculine. A part of him knows he could be happy but he's been so miserable getting drunk, drama, etc. that he's found comfort in it.
His happiness would not be good for his poems. For his "book sales in europe."
youre right pills are cleaner and no calories, now thats american cheez
By poolpig [Affiliate User] 1216541015still feeling fairly shitty man,the bus journey made me throw a whitey and i cant hold anything down haha its been a harrowing hangover! great steam this weekend though. hi do u know the name of that daft punk song i was buzzing on yesterday? the 1 with the mental beat half-way through. yours sincerely, bark bark
By jackwardjw [Affiliate User] 1216067767Hows the buzz? Frantically sending apology texts here just. Feeling a wee bit better, whats your status?
By eamonwylie [Affiliate User] 1216066535there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out, but unfortunately i've just drowned him in a sea of assorted alocholic beverages over the past 2 days lol. great poem!
By jackwardjw [Affiliate User] 1216066383This is Harry Dean Stanton reading Bukowski. It is not Bukowski reading Bukowski. The poster's information is incorrect.
By bapyou [Affiliate User] 1216014690Note to self: never drink again.
By eamonwylie [Affiliate User] 1215565354Harry Dean Stanton or Bukowski reading it? Not that it makes much difference, would be nice to know.
By ilovethemightyducks [Affiliate User] 1215562337i think u should reconsider the line about not being dumb lol. this poem is fairly easy to interpret: he's a sensitive guy but feels the need to portray a strong, masculine front in his everyday life, while surpressing his true inner feelings and only really letting them have free reign while he's laying in bed alone at night
