(Part 2 of 2) A report on how ex-servicemen and women have been systematically neglected by the MOD since a programme of hospital closures was instigated in the early 1990's. Also shows a demonstration at Trafalgar Square in London on 20 January 2007 by veterans demanding better care from the government. Interviews with General Sir Mike Jackson, Chief of General Staff until late 2006, and Derek Twigg MP, Under-Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans - probably the most grey and underwhelming minister since Stephen Byers (for whom he used to work). Sir Mike Jackson Rtrd: the ex CGS -45 years service for his Country; the problem is with the MoD planners I.E. CIVIL SERVANTS! Generals don't hold power these days to deal with their own (in-service) logistics. The Government holds all the keys. The Ministers are bastards.

We here in the US are also having the same problems with veteran's care. They use us for their policies then cast us aside.

And servicemen certainly were given the impression that there was a system of priority treatment for servicemen and ex servicemen who have an attributable war wound , its a story that the Brother Grimm would like to add to their fairy tales. 26 years service and then no treatment as promised!!!!
A land fit for Heroes? I dont think so!
