An experiment performed by Mr Hambleton of Monta Vista High School involving the bubbling of methane gas through a solution of soap and water to form bubbles. The bubbles were then ignited.
I Appreciate your video. Please watch this, free film online : Methane and Water.

Ask him to explain why the flame was yellow/orange instead of blue. Ask him to repeat the project with propane. Neat video... get a job in gas engineering... good money.

By mikesez1 [Affiliate User] 1185899563 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveActually, we're in 11th grade
By AngusBBQ [Affiliate User] 1184914217 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHere's how you can get methane for free. Eat some beans, get a coffee can, fart into it everytime you have to, immediately close the can after it. Let it sit in there for awhile, then you should have methane. But the second you release the lid, the methane will disperse rapidly because of its lighter weight, as the instructor said in this video.

By akwarneke [Affiliate User] 1184080895 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelol you can do it on your hands...that teacher indeed is too overly protective...that stick is so long...and
By xfootdoctor [Affiliate User] 1183337326 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe did this exact experiment in our chem classes (regular, honors, I think we also do it in the AP again just for kicks), but we have a heavier gas coming into our labs from the spigots. I forget exactly what it was. Needless to say the bubbles fell :) blew up across our feet. My teacher is bringing in a huge tank of methane next year so we can scorch the ceilings of the new science wing.
