It is 4 years newer so you better hope it is. The LS's parking assist is a lot less annoying too. It doesn't have the "the steering wheel will turn left/right" bit.

VW's park assist on the Tiguan seems much better and less annoying.

That ain't true. Execpt for an F1 car, which automatic does change gears faster than a good manual driver? None I tell you.

People who can't park? Besides, if you position your car properly (and most ppl don't) then you don't have to adjust anything. Besides, it's called an ASSIST. No one said you had to use it every time you park.

Prius was the first to receive this technology. The LS gets an updated version called Advanced Parking Guidance System (APGS). The Lexus version also got rid of that "steering wheel will turn left/right voice." It only says "The guidance is now complete."

the Prius does it? i thought it was only the LS460.

although park-assist is slow, technology's gotta start advancing from somewhere. it's nowhere near perfection, but don't be surprised if it can self-park in less time than it will manually.
it's innovative, and you gotta give credit where innovative engineering it is due.

i can park in about 15- 30 seconds and this thing takes about one min, way to long for me...

No. Only in Japan (from 2004) and Europe (from 2005). The only version avaiable in the US is the one on the 2007 Lexus LS (460 + 600h)

Yeah. The reverse beep can be disabled on NA cars but can't on European cars. Also, the newer version don't have that annoying "the steering wheel will turn left (or right)".
