                                                      Is it possible that a few people in Africa died of AIDS (before the 80s?) and it was not known? For example, a person may have 2 of the opportunistic infections and die from them, as well as another "non-opportunistic infection; so it was(perhaps)presumed that the death was not AIDS, because they were not looking for it. If true, then AIDS could indeed have pre-dated the 1980's.
