I don't know that much about Karen Carpenter apart from the way she passed away etc but why
are all her song so depressing . She had a fantastic voice but was there something that happened in her life that made her sing such depressing songs or was she just a unhappy person .

This is a power ballad in every sense of the term. Your opinion is valid, but Karen did have a flawless voice and while this song is generally depressing, it is nonetheless brilliant.

It's more likely that this song was a smash hit long before you were even born....

Karen Carpenter voice was flawless. She never forced a note. A beautiful melodic quality.

the only reason I looked this up is because I read it was the "beginning of power ballads".. This is JUST MY OPPIONION.. but this song F**king blows.. I'm sorry.. I like alot of music., but this I do not like... However.. the lead guitar is good.. IN MY OPPINION.. So save the drama for ur mama.. I dont need it..

P.S. If I havent heard this song (((EVER))).. then it must not be that good. It sounds like a song that OVERLY happy (drugged out) people would like.
