Maybe what they (the corporations and the cia) are saying is not that they are men of the people, but rather they are men FOR the people, maybe it is the best interest of the usa that its people do not know what their leaders are doing.

Sometimes I wonder if the CIA represent the truly and dully interest of American people since their focus is international interests, affecting international corporations, so your term of "western followers" doesn't make any sense, American people are not getting rich or getting any benefits of these campaigns, international corporations are.

What if the US was actually independent of oil imports. The US would have no reason to prop up Israel and would not need to do business with the Arabs, or oil countries. Israel would become poor and the Arabs would have oil money coming in from other nations. Israel would be crushed. Hum, Israel really need us to be dependent on oil and be at odds with the Arabs. The Arabs like our business, but would like it if we would stop propping up Israel. Maybe this is why we are dependent on oil

I am American and felt great respect for Anwar Sadat ,the world needs more leaders with his courage.He was sincere in trying to initiate peace in MiddleEast
