A step-by-step look at how I make 1/2" medieval-style arrows for use with a heavy poundage English Longbow. The heads shown in the video are hand forged by Hector Cole and John Marshall. Hector can be Googled on the web or seen in person at major UK re-enactment fayres. The music is by Ennio Morricone, made famous by the "Spaghetti Westerns" featuring Clint Eastwood. Sorry, but I do not make arrows for other people.

    I buy the shafts as arrow shafts for my heavy bows as I need to know they wont break, plus I usually use birch as it is dense and has more mass for distance shooting. For my lighter bows (50 - 60lb) I would happily use a good dowel as it is cheaper. Just make sure you check the dowel is one piece and not sections of wood glued together, as this can happen.
