Anyway if any of you dudes know of a silat club in the north east of england please let me know newcastle area if pos, remember it's healthy to try other styles to add to your own "bruce lee" and good luck with the training and the tape not my thing but it would be boring if we all agreed, beefy still lol

For anyone who is thinking of buying the vid, i've been a student of John's for the past 2 1/2 years and his teaching style is excellent, lots of emphasis on the importance of stance, structure and getting the basics right which are the foundations of being good at WC (I should know, I am the star pupil LOL!!), and all done with a good sense of humour thrown in. Nice one x

just wanted to drop you a note to say how much i've enjoyed watching over the DVD's (again!) - they really help me concentrate on the finer points and the explanations of the theories behind the system is *very* interesting!
keep up the hard work! :o)
I think you've really hit upon a good idea in recording the sessions in the style of a class. I like the way you seem to talk to me (the viewer) as the student. You also look and sound really comfortable doing this as I guess it is just like giving a class. The chapters are logically set out, easy to follow and just the right length. It would be easy for somebody trying to learn from them to perfect each sequence before moving on.
All in all, a great piece of work! Well done.
Hi Sifu,
Just been watching your dvd, which is great. It gives so much clear detail of real Wing Chun, and did it in perfectionism as a true master. I have bought quite alot of dvds from the UK and Hong Kong, most of them are really disappointing to watch. Looking forward to seeing the next video.Your toe dai (student). T.Kwai Wong
by the way if any of the sunderland bus lads and lasses who i dont see anymore read the comments, big shouts to you, i know i still see a couple of you, but this is for malc, tom, ramsey etc the lists to long to fit you all on, you were a great bunch of people and i hope i see you again some day, hadn't seen ron for 6 years, within 10 mins of seeing him again, i was rolling with him, to show him i hadn't sat idle ha ha, wont be back on here, nothing of any interest to me, laters.
By 1wingspen [Affiliate User] 1217006866 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe reason i mentioned the bad mouthing is because it came from my pals i trained with at Johns club back then, one of them even said he felt guilty because he never stuck up for me. However,if your dad says he didn't do it, then i will take his word for it and i certainly dont wish to hurt your feelings. As for poor standards, i humbly aggree with yip ching that most of the the wing chun in this country is terrible, with a couple of exceptions, i also wish you all the best for your future.

I think you know my dad pretty well, and bad mouthing people isnt what he does. If students feel they want to leave to try out different clubs then they can feel free. My Dad has always has a very good standard at his club and everyone there has really respected him.
At the end of the day John Agar has a really good established club. What you do is upto you, get on with it.
Hope all goes well in the future for you.
pollrex, my pal told me to check this out on youtube today and i cant believe i've got a mention, i am one of the two John Agar students you mention, that stuck it out through the hard times,i have it on good authority that John has bad mouthed me to a few people over the years and for what, realising thatt the kung fu i had been taught was sub standard, i will say what i have said to his previous top students and have proved on every occasion, roll with me and then comment, they never do
By wingchunspen [Affiliate User] 1216943788 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI trained with PaulO'Neil for years and the difference in the standards of his students to John Agar had to be seen to be believed, nearly all of them either quit, or took up another martial art because of how disheartened they had become. Poor stance and turning on the toes rather than heels seemed to cause the most problems and it takes ages to correct. To be fair though their was a couple who stuck it out and ended up amongst Paul's best students but it took along time.
By pollrex [Affiliate User] 1216925889 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAha, handy. I might just look into that. Although I'm more of a Baji Quan fan myself
By dctim [Affiliate User] 1216070419 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe hall did produce some echo, however the trailer audio where I believe you hear the echo is only evident when the sound comes from the second camera we used. In the actual final videos all audio comes from a wireless lavaliere microphone so this has been greatly reduced. :)
