A brief review of the Lathemaster 9 X 30 lathe. Although I've not had a chance to put this lathe through its paces, it looks like this is a *very* well built lathe and is far beyond the average Asian home machine shop lathe. I'll have more reviews as I get to use the machine more.

    I agree, Ive owned several Grizzly products including the 12 X 36 lathe (had to sell it when I moved) and they are fine products. Ive found the Lathemaster to be as good, perhaps even better, than the Grizzly equipment Ive owned.

    I know many people with Grizzly equitment both metalworking an woodworking equitment an they have had very few if no problems with it an wen ive used em they work great.......some things you get what you pay for

    You are correct the video makes the lathe sound very noisy. The camera I use seems to pick up noise in that frequency awful loud!

    In fact, the lathe is *very* quiet. I've had a gear drive and it's no comparison to the low noise level of the Lathemaster.

    Overall, I find the Lathemaster noise very similar to any other belt drive.
