Crack Wep with Backtrack 3

im currently using backtrack 3 final.....its a bit differnent but it has the same icon on the bottom left that openes up a new shell.

Anyway it doesn't work. have you used bt3 final? not beta. This is the final and it's only one shell opened. it shows me only a few commands like : ifconfig and startx.

I didn't used before any of bt but I do know linux.

do you think you can do a video with backtrack 3 final? because I don't even know if it's installed on my laptop. I did your commands and all went through until you opened a new shell and with bt3 final I don't know how to open another shell. let me know.

this is the best video on bt3 or any tut on cracking wep it worked for me almost down to the letter just cuz i have the netgear wpn311

Yeah! I wanted to use recordmydesktop, but I couldn't find a good encoder, I'll have to try MEncoder. Yes, you helped alot! That's exactly what I was looking for!

I was not running VMware, I run off of a USB boot.

You can use the recordmydesktop command in backtrack to record your screen. The video is very high quality, but it is in .ogg format. You may need to find a good encoder to convert it to something more common. Try MEncoder. Hope I helped. By the way, how difficult was it to set up VMWare?

just keep waiting, i once needed over 300,000 till it cracked.

i reached the last stage but it keeps failing im on 45000 IVS and it still fails to find the key iv tried both 128 and 64? do i just wait more?
