Why do we do decadent things in the west? Such as spilling food, money and energy? It is because we are aware of the malnourishment at a subconscious level. The mind however, in most of the herd, can`t translate the lack in something logic and therefor is never satisfied. We have plenty, but we aren`t aware of the missing pieces... I wouldn't complain about fossil fuel as much as I would do to smoking. Using fossil fuel has more impact on the environment, right, but we all know that there's no use at all for smoking.

Seriously, what you say isn't very smart, the problem is the distribution of the wealth, two pathetic slices of bread won't make a difference, if you have a problem with the way the world works, I aggree, but try and change anything for real and don't mix up priorities, it's like the people standing next to a motorway complaining about cigarette smoke...stop pestering, start thinking.
