you obviously haven't bothered doing any research on oriental dance. perhaps you should go to Egypt, the home of raqs sharki as tell all the leading MALE teachers, i.e Mohammad kazafi and Tito of you knowledge. I'm sure your ignorance will go down well...not to mention yr stupidity.

well actually she is a he and I acutally didnt do any fusion. I havent done rajasthani or bhangra b4 so it must be luck that I somehow managed to put that in there. Its a combination of egyptian raqs sharki with my own technique. yeah it was pretty fast paced I think and I've slowed up quite a bit.

I learnt from practice at the beginning but then I took a few classes and had also learnt a lot from a lady here in Sydney. I learnt the egypt form of raqs sharki. The band were great that night tho I had no idea what they were going to play so it was pretty much improvised. as for the odissi style, I haven't learnt any indian dance forms b4 but perhaps it just came out in my performance.

I do quite a lot of dancing.November and december is prety much full on. Let me know when you're down and will gladly give u some details. :-)

hey thanks lena. I started dancing about 5 years ago. u know, I truly believe that this dance is one that is so individual. U have to feel it from within, the music n the soul of it. Its hard to explain. hope u know what I mean. In arabic they say aHsas which is roughly translated as the feeling. i.e the feeling u have for the dance (passion)
