The SBT has been copping a bit of flack in the media, being targeted as dangerous and 'statisticaly' rating as one of the highest biters/attackers.

The trouble is, how are these statistics gathered? Who decides the difference between a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, An American Staffordshire Terrier, A Pit Bull, or any Cross Breeds for that matter?

A recent article reported that an SBT was the offender, when in actual fact the picture they used for an example of the breed was an AmStaff... this highlights precisely that the media are pretty slap happy when preparing their articles and don't research these cases completely. They are looking for BIG headlines, and a quick blame solution.. Unfortunately it is ultimately the dogs that end up suffering.

This video is not about shifting blame from one breed to the next, its about recognising that it is not the dog or the breed that are the problem, but the OWNERS. Afterall, who do the dogs learn from?

We need to 're-educate' the public, our families, and even the media. Its about promoting "Responsible Ownership" - choosing the 'right' dog for your lifestyle, being dedicated to providing training and guidance, and learning how to be a strong leader.

As you will see in the video, Staffordshire Bull Terriers are the most loving and kindest of breeds, they are a family dog, who need to be included, loved and treated with respect... give them this and they will be your friend for life...

Thank you to all at Bull Breeds Online & Petbizzo who generously donated pictures for this video, even if we can reach just a few people with our message, it will have been worth it.

  • A lead is a must ...

A lead is a must for staff in public, they need that, because they are a powerful dog, even in defense, and it is the owners responsability to protect them as they are a dog. I agree with ur comment, but do the right thing and u dont have to worry. :)

    Great video, enjoyed it.
I have a brindle SBT. I have had her for 5 years now and she is part of our family. I have 3 children and they have grown up together. SBT are the best dogs anyone could own and we read up that their nicknames are "The childrens nanny dog". say no more.

  • These dogs are very ...

These dogs are very fine animals FAR less dangerous that the stupid human race who are responsible for fighting these loving animals and who commit far more un provoked attacks.
I say anyone who judges staffies as killer dogs are less inteligent than the staff and should try to further there life experience. They should also realise everytime they go out in their precious cars THEY are more likely to KILL.

  • The #1 biting dog ...

The #1 biting dog is the C**ker Spaniel... I've had many pitts and Staffs. They are animals. They act accordinly to their raising and treatment. They are smart and strong. If you don't know dogs you have no place owning one. THATS the problem. NOT the dogs. -Retired Animal Control Officer

  • I have a gorgeous ...

I have a gorgeous Staffy girl who I wouldn't and couldn't be without now! She is such a character and so loving. It annoys me so much that to many people start a conversation with me with "Aren't they dangerous"... I have started to reply rather tersly with "Actually no, its the stupid owners or a particular dog, not the breed in general!"
Here's to educating the masses and reminding them how wonderful these dogs really are! The video is wonderful!
