ChazFest 2009 Jeremy Lyons & Deltabilly Boys - New Orleans Music - Jazz Fest Week

Jeremy Lyons and the Deltabilly Boys making a triumphant return to New Orleans at the 2009 Chaz Fest Music Festival. A local favorite, Lyons relocated to Cambridge, Mass. with his family after Hurricane Katrina. And though he has been entertaining the Northeast with his unique blend of Delta blues and Rockabilly, he and the band have been sorely missed on the New Orleans music scene. The Deltabilly Boys are drummer Paul Santopadre and fellow busker Greg Schatz on upright bass.

Performing the original song, "(I Ain't Got No) Fifty Cents," Jeremy Lyons and the Deltabilly Boys show the up-tempo humor that, along with delta blues slide guitar, is part of the their signature style that audiences in New Orleans adored.

Chaz Fest 2009 in New Orleans is a great addition to the music festivities surrounding Jazz Fest. For four years, Chaz Fest has been treating music lovers with a winning line up of local acts in a setting that is uniquely New Orleans. The Festival takes place at the Truck Farm in the Bywater, and the location provides the perfect blend of space and intimate areas with rustic wooden sheds providing one of the stages and most of the food vendor spaces.

The line up for Chaz Fest includes some of the best and most interesting musicians in New Orleans. These musicians, most of whom are well known to local music-goers, provide a constantly-shifting tapestry as the music moves from French Cello music to progressive jazz, to Delta Blues, to post-punk, to traditional New Orleans Brass Bands and that's just the first half of the day!
