  • Well,my view is ...

Well,my view is very simple:we as Christians should VALUE ourselves like God does...and try our best(is this self reliance or self help???) to do the right things in God's sight(according to Micah6:8).It's useless for the Kingdom of God if we just SAY something(I mean Theology) or judge something,am I right?(Please don't misunderstand,I respect Mr.Washer as a servant of God.)

  • I heard that ...

I heard that students in Taiwan (I think it was) normally think that they do terrible on tests while American kids think they do great yet the Taiwanese kid's scores are significantly higher than that of the American kids. Why? The kids have self-esteem and think they do well when they actually don't; much like Joel. Self-esteem is not the answer.

  • Self-esteem is a ...

Self-esteem is a pompous attitude that results from self-reliance. Obviously self-reliance is contradictory to reliance on God as the Bible commands that we should do. Since the root of self-esteem is contradictory to the Bible, the fruit (self-esteem) is discarded with the branch. Also, if this weren't enough, can you provide one Scripture that states we should have self-esteem? It's an anti-Christian philosophy at it's core.

  • I saw many videos ...

I saw many videos about Paul Washer...and I finally understand he's strongly against "self esteem".Why?The Scripture says clearly we are created in God's IMAGE and God even sent His ONLY Son to death FOR us,we are children of the Most High God...shouldn't we have self esteem???I can't understand.

  • In my opinion Paul ...

In my opinion Paul Washer and Joel Osteen both are making mistakes in some ways. They're not speaking the absolute truth about God.I hope we can realize the Holy Spirit is the KEY role in our lives! We as Christians should focus on the Holy Spirit's works, not Paul Washer or Joel Osteen.

  • Joel seems sincere. ...

Joel seems sincere. I know folks who know Rick and they insist his heart is in the right place.

These men need prayer. They have a lot of influence over a lot of people. They are lost. They are leading people to hell. They need prayer.

Thx for uploading yet another great vid, Lane!

He qualifies his statement to approve those activities as you speak of them. "They're all vanity unless they're done to the Glory of God." Many, however, do those things without God on their minds and that is the problem.

  • "All known laws of ...

"All known laws of nature..." Questions.

    a)Who made the laws?
b)Laws require intellect to be assigned, who has the sufficient intellect?
c)Neccesarily, who is powerful enough toimplement those laws, universally?

    Some thoughts to ponder.

  • The difference ...

The difference between Christianity and every other religion is that Christianity says man can't reach God no matter what good works he does. God is holy. Holiness is absolute perfection. No matter what man does he can never be perfect. Man will always sin. Every other religion in the world says you can reach perfection through some kind of works. If God is holy, and He is, then we are in real trouble. If we can't be perfect we are lost. That is where Christ comes in.
