How to skim. Some DIY skills can be learnt from reading a book - plastering is probably not one of them You need someone to show you the basics, then much practice is needed. But it is possible to achieve successful plastering whilst practising -- just have a go at the small areas first. This clip is a very quick brief guide to the art of plastering.

    two coats of mulit finish is needed in any skim ,the reason for this is the frist coat will fill out any low points in the walls or ceiling and the second coat will flatten the new plaster down after that its down to the trowel to do the rest!

    u will need to use multi finish plaster, it will need to coats maybe three depending on the thickness of the artex ,im a plasterer and would not recommend anyone to take on a set without having had some experince or some good manual skills.
