no you shouldnt, sax is way more fun, it can get you pretty far in life as well. i was scared when i first started but now i can pretty much do any song on it

ive been playing saxaphone for a year fun instrement please start it's very easy to pickup and it duzn't hurt. if he sez it may cut u hez a fagot... im a carless 7th grader and i haven't been cut once.....

I agree totally... I started on clarinet when I was younger. I switched to tenor and I had the tight embouchure, which made it difficult to produce a sound.

I strongly disagree with your teacher, if you wanna learn sax hop right on one, learning something before will just make the adjustment more confusing, flute fingerings are about 80% the same as sax and clarinet embouchure is about 80% the same as sax, but clarinet fingerings and flute embouchure are waaay different than sax... The best instrument to learn if you wanna play sax is sax

i just got a tenor sax and im still perfecting my embouchure. its pretty hard!

What you do, is you hum through the mouthpiece as you are blowing the horn. Pitch doesn't matter, just go ah.
