By geodesicks [Affiliate User] 1215228835 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow is it really bad? its right buddy. if you want to know why he didn't pivot the entire way or his hand exchanges were kind of weird, go take the classes yourself. btw he's a MMA fighter, his technique doesn't have to be completely stylized to fit kickboxing. this isn't bad at all, if you think this is bad, boy, you guys got to go back to some kickboxing school or w/e kind of mcdojo you go to, cause it looks fine to me as just a plain ol roundhouse,
By Jhakk2222 [Affiliate User] 1215208957 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveUchihaItachi8989, yes i agree 'good' karate styles are very effective but i think you misunderstood what i meant about MT for which i apologise. I did not mean that MT was 'basic' I was just arguing with piyaponglawyer's point. I meant that most MT use only a small number of strikes(roundhouse, knee, straights, hooks, elbows, etc.) in various combinations as opposed to many karate's using dozens of types of spinning kicks, axe kicks, chops, fingerstrike, etc. for example..
By mgbrawl [Affiliate User] 1214990167 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewow this is really bad.
By shinslinger5000 [Affiliate User] 1214987445 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo muay thai is not as basic as Kyokushin karate. Infact, many kyokushin practioners get their black belts, and then move 2 Muay Thai, or other martial arts. Take GSP for exmaple. Kyokushin is very simple and very effective.

By leejun1968 [Affiliate User] 1214352345 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removepiyaponglawyer, i hav 2 completly disagree.
muay thai is acullally much more 'basic' than many traditional martial arts as it only uses basic strikes that work a high % of the time.u cud be training on things like 'finger' strikes or some S**t which u wud neva use in mma! striking 4 mma? use thai-it works-its proven! : )
I don't know. Unless you're with a very good, very progressive traditional martial arts school, you are likely to develop some bad habits that are easy to exploit by someone who has been doing MT for a comparable amount of time.

By LiLCOOKIELiL [Affiliate User] 1211747691 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removezero hip rotation when kicking full speed. I hate when people teach techniques they can't do properly.
By bigistrickis [Affiliate User] 1211576349 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you want study MMA i think you should first = TDK karate or kungfu, second = Muaythai (last) because TDK karate or kungfu it is basic for you can study Muaythai well.

By riceyboi1 [Affiliate User] 1208424980 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethat wasn't very good. he didn't throw his right arm down and back or pivot and turn his right hip all the way over (180').

By Acekorv [Affiliate User] 1201893159 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen you do that high roundhouse, watch your guards, your just asking for a staight or a hook punch to the face...
By cladics [Affiliate User] 1201058097 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI can't do a kick in slow motion either. It's supposed to be fast so when you slow it down you lose a lot of balance, and his technique really isn't that bad. Oh yeah and for the guy with the questions heels up hands up thats what we say when trying to break the shell.
By ian17901 [Affiliate User] 1199020855 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveS**t technique!!! When he does it in slow mo it's crap. The coach explains that you have to pivot the standing foot. However when he does it at full speed he gets no rotation on the standing foot. AMATEURS!!! Also there is no hip rotation in hips!! WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!
By J888HNT [Affiliate User] 1198296142 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeu heels should always be off the mat and slightly higher on the ground. u should pivot with the ball near ur big toe, and for beginners, u should exastdurate it and turn 180 degrees to bring ur hips out.
2nd q: u know it depends how close u are to ur opponent but in general, ur hands should always be up whether a kick, knee, or punch. its your chin that ur primarily protecting tho.
first off, u shouldnt be watching these chumps try to teach u a kick. they lack good solid hip movement which restricts power.
