  • My Hapkido ...

My Hapkido instructor once said, if someone knew how to use a knife he would try to run, theres no point risking it.

  • Knife defense? This ...

Knife defense? This will piss some people off ... but. You will get a false sense of confidence practicing unrealistic knife defenses. Be able to separate Hollywood from reality.

  • 'does not ...

'does not constitute as "real live" experience.'
    - *I already covered this, so let's try again*
No, but being shown techniques by them and understanding its principles and being in quite a number of real life situations certainly does.

  • So you type ...

So you type BULLSHIT in all caps in every other thread, how is that fabricating my reality? God damn you're an inbred. I bet you have six toes and three V****as . I quote you so you know what I'm answering to, I suppose you're not smart enough to figure that one out.

  • I never said ...

  • you keep on " ...

  • 'your getting ...

    'your getting boring now'
    - I'd say the same thing if you were half intelligent, since this is beating a dead horse. But thanks to your stupidity, you're still slightly amusing. Hint: saying 'it's quite stupid' isn't name calling. Oh, tell your imaginary friend I said hi. :)

  • 'stupid? name ...

'stupid? name calling is rather childish'
    - So is typing 'bullshit' in all caps at all times, so let's not talk about mentality shall we. :)
'speaking to instructors&practitioners does not give the experience'
    - No, but being shown techniques by them and understanding its principles and being in quite a number of real life situations certainly does.

  • (cont).. i see now ...

(cont).. i see now that yr extensive expertise in martial arts is only limited to watching short clips & "asking" questions & not 1st hand training. mate come back when u do have 1st hand experience. your getting boring now.

  • stupid? name ...

stupid? name calling is rather childish, again u just exposed how yr mentality really is. Here we have a child claiming to have spoken to many instructors and practitioners to gain knowledge. i got new for you, speaking to instructors&practitioners does not give the experience to judge what is effective&what isne on the streets...

  • No, not claim to be ...

No, not claim to be a specialist, but enough to determine, on my views of reality, what is street effective and what isn't. I judge a technique, you say I judge the entire system, its principles and history. I do much research and have spoken with many instructors and practitioners to gain knowledge, you say I basically need to learn all these 'centuries old artforms' to make any statement about any technique at all. It's quite stupid Deadlines.

  • Self research ...

Self research without proper guidance does not warrant anyone to finalize thier judgement on anything then determines what it is and what it is not, if anyone could just claimed to have researched something & pass judgement on thier own analytic views, everyone can calim to be a specialist or have a "DR" title infrom of thier names.

  • I'm not saying that ...

I'm not saying that since I've trained in Hapkido for a year that I know everything about the art, but training for a year is enough to determine if it's street realistic or not. I know everything about this art, among any others, since I do research. This is the internet afterall, and watching these demos gives me an idea, but nothing that warrants a finalized thesis, hence why I give my review on the techniques displayed.
