Daws Butler used the same voice for Rufus Roughcut that he did for Mr. Grudge, the guy who "don't believe in Santy Claus" in Stan Freberg's classic "Christmas Dragnet" record.

I totally agree with you. I think he also voiced Gargomel in the Smurfs.

Loved the cartoon as a kid, and think I am actually more fond of it now. Only thing is that the theme is nothing more then the Coyote and Road Runner with people. I always thought Dastardly got a bad rap in this. The others cheated by doing sabatoge to their competitor's cars as well, and never got the bad rap ol' D.D. did. I also hated it when they did the cheap "Mumbly" ripoff in the 70's. He just didn't have the same personality Muttley did.

He was also spokesman for NASCAR's Cartoon Network sponsored vehicle.....(or as he called it, "NASTY CAR!")

Paul Winchell was absotively perfect for the voice of Dick Dastardly! Don Messick, also was excellent as Muttley! ;)

Dick Dastardly has the best laugh in the world.

It was actually called "Dastardly and Muttley In Their Flying Machines". "Stop The Pigeon" was the theme song.

It really brings up memories Im an Anime fan now but i will never forget Dastardly he used to star also in other series or is it just me ?

I had a Laugh Alympics comic book when I was a kid and the series was on ABC, where Dastardly and Muttley made a cameo appearance as Dred's and Mumbly's cousins. They had a bone to pick with them about who had rightful claim to an oil well a now late relative had left behind. Both made their cases on how their way of swindling gave them legal title.
