Over The Hills And Far Away- Led Zeppelin (Live at Earls Court)

MSG was pretty good, but even the band didn't think that footage represented them at their best (read Hammer of the gods). I agree, to mere mortals like us, it seems fantastic, but to perfectionists like Jimmy Page, it wasn't the best. Jimmy actually felt he was at his peak in shows like How the west was won (because his 14 year old girlfriend was watching, and he felt compelled to show off).

I have to agree, that MSG was pretty good footage though.

That's possible, but I don't know what might have happened to it. The important thing is that this version rocks :)

This one features Jimmy's 1958 Les Paul, compare with the last Earls Court date version using his '59 Les Paul. This one has more clear distinct sound on bottom pickup where the 58 with twin fully cased humbuckers has more of a wash. Interesting that Page used his 59 for the entire set on the last day, perhaps his 58 was being fixed?
