Yeah, C:WindowsSystem32configSAM (I believe). It can't be opened when the computer is running in that operating system so, if you have physical access, you start up a live cd and extract the SAM file. Then, you can use a cracker to crack it. But, you can't use JTR because you need to have the hashes. Unless you can extract the hashes by hand, you should use something like l0phtcrack so that it can extract the hashes for you and then crack them.

Its ecrypted an i believe its the sam file your talking about it contains alot of your windows passwords but only those stored in your password manager and i do not suggest you mess with it.... it doesnt just contain password info and it could mess up your computer....

for every one who dosent know there is a hidden file on the every pc... it contains every password on your computer including zip pwords and everything like that .. all you have to do is find it..
