As a matter of fact I do refuse. You should read the section of my website dedicated to sobriety checkpoints.

I also have links to sobriety checkpoint guidelines from the Tucson Police, the Pima County Sheriff, and the Mesa Police that clearly indicate individuals stopped are not required to talk to the stopping officer, roll down their window, or otherwise interact with the stopping officer absent reasonable suspicion.

On new years do you refuse to stop and take sobriety tests also? I mean hey are conducted on inner-city limits, all over the place and not everyone they stop will be drunk so you dont see any purpose in that either?

That is a dam good point, and with out these check piont stops the people doing those things will just turn themselves in?

There's no comparison between traffic lights and internal suspicionless checkpoints. Traffic lights don't interrogate the occupants of vehicles absent reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing.

* The right to travel
* The right to privacy
* The right to be free from unreasonable search & seizure
* The right to freedom from self incrimination
* The right to a limited federal government with explicitly defined powers.

The scope of these checkpoints aren't limited to checking for illegals. Drug sniffing dogs are also utilized to search for controlled substances absent reasonable suspicion.

Who is really suffering have you lost your freedom. Are still not able to post your rhetoric? What freedoms have you lost? A minor delay that last less than the time to wait for a traffic light. maybe we should question those too? Seeing how they are implace for the safety of our citizens.

What of the individuals that haven't the right to be in the U.S.? Checkpoints are merely established to inspect those peole as to thier right to be in and remain in the U.S.

You make the erroneous assumption that federal agents have a right to treat individuals with suspicion absent cause inside the country.

Individuals don't need to prove anything to the federal government in the United States of America. The burden of proof rests with the government while internal suspicionless checkpoints are the hallmark of a police state & shouldn't be suffered by a free people.

Actually, internal checkpoints aren't effective and haven't been for over thirty years. The fact is with over 3,000 agents in the Tucson sector and only 280 miles of border to patrol, Homeland Security could shutdown the border here if they wanted to. They don't because of politics while internal checkpoints serve as nothing more than dog and pony shows being conducted to create the illusion that the fedgov is doing something about "the problem".

Your arguments are weak in the respect that an agent should know your citizenship at the mere sight of you. Here's a small demonstration. In one sentence, accurately describe what a United States citizen looks like. Short, tall, fat, black, white, brown, happy, sad, is there such a description? The answer is no. Therefore, the questions should be asked.

Maybe my skepticism has something to do with the individual rights, not granted, but explicitly recognized by the 4th and 5th amendments along with the fact that there's no excuse for these agents to not be working the border instead of harassing individuals absent reasonable suspicion inside the country.
