HobbyZones Super Cub RTF has proven to be the best way for beginners to learn the skills needed to fly radio controlled models even if they are doing it on their own without an experienced RC pilot to help. Now the new Super Cub LP RTF improves on the original with a Li-Po battery for longer flight times and an interesting new color scheme. The Super Cub LP includes everything needed to fly the model and in as little time as it takes to charge the battery. It is also a very durable airplane able to survive some of the mishaps related to beginners first flights. The Z-Foamâ„¢ construction is easily repaired with common adhesives so the model will be back in the air within minutes. Check out the features listed below. I was able to catch up with Eric Johnson, product developer in charge of the Super Cub LP and asked him to show us all about the new model.

Watch the preview video with Eric outlining the features of this new Super Cub LP for us.

I just bought one of these (& the float kit too) for my Dad as a Father's day/Birthday present. He doesn't know yet though. Haha.

  • Yes. The mini ...

Yes. The mini version is also a good starter plane too if you want something smaller than this. Same exact design, & features just 1/2 the size as this one, with red decals instead. Flies about the same too, but the tail wheel is fixed position, so taxiing is more difficult than it is with the one in this video. The Parkzone micro Citabria is also good a good starter plane too. It all depends on the size you want really. The bigger planes will usually fly/handle better in windy conditions.

  • Absolutely. I have ...

Absolutely. I have mentioned this many times but I'll mention it again. I have taught my fiancee to fly using the original Super Cub and this one takes things to the next level. Having someone experienced around to help you won't hurt, but it's not a necessity either. As much as I loved my HobbyZone Commander and Commander 2 I wish this plane would have been out when I was learning to fly.
