    true, so true. For the past year now, you see oil and auto companies advertise entirely on renewable energies, fuel economy. How they are the cutting edge, how they are the frontiers, so to speak. But of course they never mention that a decade ago, oil would get tight. Hell, they should have started this research back in the 70s.

    If American auto companies hadn't ignored the prospect of sky rocketing oil prices and began to build more fuel efficient cars and trucks, they would have been far more competetive in the market. Right now, Asian countries lead the auto market with high quality and better fuel economy. I would buy American if it where more affordable. But since they left the average lower middle class out of the equation as far as affordability goes, I now own two Kia automobiles. U.S. auto killed itself.

    GM lost my confidence when they crushed the EV1 program. Instead of being on the "cutting edge" of a new, green technology, GM is asking for a bail out.? I will not buy another GM product unless they bring back the EV1!!

    Fuck the American Auto Industry! I can't afford overpriced vehicles I have to bring to the repair shop every 3 months. I've had both GM and Fords and they suck ass, no wonder NOBODY wants to buy them. Two Toyotas later and I would never go back - never had any problems with them and they use less gas. The US auto industry deserves to die, it is run by greedy "bottom line" fascists. I need to cover my own "bottom line" just to survive! Let them bail themselves out, just like we have to!!!
