The Art and Empire Exhibition shows priceless Assyrian artefacts from the British Museum in London. The wall reliefs from the palaces show battle scenes, hunting of lions and bulls and a variety of deities. There are several examples of the first writing, cuneiform,on baked clay tablets to give a permanent record. The famous bronze weight cast in bronze in the shape of a lion was found by the archaeologist Henry Layard whose portrait is included in the film. The trip was arranged by the Ayuntamiento de San Fulgencio.Music:Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo

Best wishes.
birdman143 that was a nice video, I am also an Assyrian without a homeland, our empire dates back to 7000 B.C. and people dont recognize us. And nowadays people like Arabs, Kurds, Turkman, Muslims, they claim that Assyria is theirs

By havellaneda2000 [Affiliate User] 1202080226 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for watching my video and your comments. The ransacking of the museums during the invasion of Iraq means these treasures are now doubly important. They were loaned by the British Museum after the Alicante MARQ was voted the Best European Museum in 2004.I am pleased you are using my video in your class.Best wishes,Ken.

By havellaneda2000 [Affiliate User] 1201154252 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKen: Thanks for the wonderful work! Both images and music really inspired me. I'm an Art History teacher in Mexico and I will be showing your video in my class. I'm so sad to see what looters did to the Irak museum, and I am happy to see that in Spain they have such respect for these treasures, because I am a true believer that all of them belong to us, to the people of the world, since that was the cradle of our civilization...!
By rossanamx [Affiliate User] 1201059977 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethanks for replying back. true that i should be proud of my ancestors but, thanks to islam (arabs, turks and kurds) when the british occupied iraq they promised us to give our country back to us but that promised was never fullfiled, sad to see this happeneing when we were the best allies to the british, americans and the russians during WWI and WWII.I hope USA and allies pressure the new iraqi government and the kurds to allow the assyrians to establish their self ruled region in mosul Nineveh .
