By it, I mean dd-wrt.

I bought a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54. The HP stands for High Power, which it lives up to, delivering nearly twice the signal strength of the aforementioned Linksys. I blasted the original firmware with dd-wrt without even bothering to give it a chance. I've been using this router now for over 6 months and haven't had to power cycle it once. It just works, no hassle. The article's I read before doing this said it turns your $60 router into a $600 router. I totally agree.

I got frustrated with my Linksys router frequently taking breaks from doing its job and requiring a "power cycle" to get going again, so I decided to try out the dd-wrt firmware on my Linksys. There is a chance of "bricking" your router when changing firmware and this is what happened to me. None of the de-bricking tactics seemed to work for me, so I went out and bought a new router.

How Do I fix this? I will move the router inside the house instead of towards the outside wall, where no one wants it.

I hate linksys, their support and products S**k I have had no problems with my Netgear router, but I would LOVE an Airport Extreme.

so you are italian! :) and yeah that's a very good top 5. in my house i have a wireless B network and the signal is terrible. i often drop my connection. even though windows says 100% signal strength, i don't think that's accurate. also one tip that may be useful, use a static ip instead of dynamic.

u need 2 do wireless mouse 2 because i bought an inland wireless mouse and it worked for only a week, i did return it though but it sucked
