Arguably the greatest of all big game fish; a leaping Black Marlin is one of the most spectacular sights in fishing..... and when they get up to over 1000 pounds, they really are a sight to behold... Check out the underwater footage and see just how fast these things can move!!

My friend caught a 400 pound one once with lots of help. He said it tasted really good smoked, and his marlin wasn't devoured by sharks....
I`d like to see the shark that ate that marlin in apparently one bite

By Paumonsu [Affiliate User] 1212495711 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhy are people surprised when sharks eat the fish in the end? It's got a line in its mouth and its being pulled back, so it's not exactly in the best position to fight a shark..

By hackr4life [Affiliate User] 1211539770 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveVery similar situation like the other video, but man this marlin was clearly larger.
By xFoolyCoolyx [Affiliate User] 1211381733 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat would take 12 small sharks to do that. I'm betting big tiger.
By AggroFisher [Affiliate User] 1211131537 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebullsharks live in rivers mainly
By Shinobi100 [Affiliate User] 1211112205 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethat fish was around 1200 lbs. though the biggest ever caught was a bit over 1800 lbs!! and over 2200 lbs commercially! Marlins are huge beast!
By Idtelos [Affiliate User] 1211051909 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeunlikely as white shark that far north at that time of year
plenty of tigers in that area as well as monster hammers but it could of easly of been a few large reef sharks and thats what my money would be on
a handfull of hungry reefies can make a bloody big fish disappare in a very quick time
it would of been a few bites that got the marlin to that stage and not just one big swallow
its HUGE!!! i cant imagine wat it would look like with its body!!!!

By magbod1988 [Affiliate User] 1210741916 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removenot really mate, most sharkings off the eastern Australian coast is due to Makos. Not saying that your wrong but just not the simplest answer. Any large shark can do that amount of damage in a short amount of time.
