Mr. Inoue, the senior US Senator from the state of Hawaii talks about the importance of maintaining positive relationships between Japan and US. During the WWII, as a US citizen he dedicated himself to serving in the most decorated unit in American history, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, most of which were composed of Japanese Americans, yet whose families had been sent to Internment camps by their own government. As a recipient of the Medal of Honor he was the first Japanese-American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and later so as the U.S. Senate.
