The Tudors: Royal Cast of Characters

Did they combine Margaret and Princess Mary? That has to be what happened, because Brandon married Princess MARY, not Margaret. Interesting.

Indeed, they are. Mary married the elderly King of France, who died shortly afterwards, and then married Henry's friend Charles Brandon afterwards... I'm still not sure where they got the idea to involve the King of Portugal in any of this, though, or to switch the princesses in the first place. This looks like an entertaining series, but some of the inaccuracies drive the historically OCD part of me crazy.

Appareantly they decided to fuse Princess Mary and Princess Margaret into one character... I hate it when they do things like that

this looks totally ridiculous...really does take a great deal of free range with a historical period...wonder if they'll be incorporating all the other stuff that went along with the period, lack of WCs, lice, fleas, disease...probably not, doesn't seem to go with the scenes of people screwing...disgusting

Yeah, on the face of it I think they did pick someone to portray Henry on the young & attractive side, but well, it is television we're talking about.

As for the catholic and protestant thing, during Henry's time I don't think you could call the Anglican church very "protestant", more of an English Catholicism.

But yes, am looking forward to this very much but just to be a history bore....henry was 40 something when he met anne, not as a strapping 20 something as depicted here...he has alot to answer for as far as the catholic and protestant thing goes though.
