Obama is both black and white. His win doesn't mean that inequality among races don't exist, it means that it is possible to succeed in that type of environment. However, with thinking like yours, it's understandable why it is such an uphill battle for minority students in inner city schools.

Barack Obama is more than a politician. He is a once in a generation inspirational figure. No Bush, Cheney or even Clinton can get inner city youths interested in the political process and want to step up higher. The key to Barack's success and appeal is he has a true, sound and needed vision for a better tomorrow, and the qualities needed to inspire people to achieve that, whilst the others frankly dont have these rare qualities. I have faith in America to lead the world with a true statesman.

Good point, ebie58. I was saying the same thing in a conversation the other day. If he doesn't win (he will) it is obvious that his presence in the election has sparked an unprecedented amount of talk and interest in race, politics and in America as a whole. It's phenomenal!This is such an exciting time to be alive. Things are happening that I thought I'd never be alive to see.

I am so impressed with these kids. They make me feel so confident in our future.

I thank God for teachers like that. I wish more and more ppl would open their hearts and minds to challenge kids, adults, young and old, women, and men.. To really take a look inside themselves and examine whats inside. People can not understand what it means to be "Black" in American, or White, or Asian, or Hispanic, but we can identify with each other. I think this guy should win a teacher of the year award. A teachers main responsiblity is to open the minds of the people that they teach.
