i know the mongols formed an empire later on in history after the greeks and whilst it may have had greater numbers(people) it was nowhere near as sophisticated, civilised and influential as the greek culture. the mongols, were slave driven, ruthless and did not effect western civilisation at all like the greeks did. the greek influence on the west today is very great, from the olympics, to politics, to mathematics, to philosophy and to science. mongols didnt practice any of these fields!

yes the movie is based on the comin book. but the comic book is baseing its data from real history. All these little american kids replying in here, the actual events of 300 spartans took place in REAL history. it was the start of the famous wars between greece and persia. The comic book has exxagerated stuff like persians looking like monsters etc yes, but the movie is based on real events. this war took place. read a history book. comparing it to spiderman is pure disrespect.

the film could have been alot better than it was,if it was more historically accurate.
what happend the greeks body armour?
why did an orc from LOTR wander onto the set?
there was several other greek states who had troops present at the battle.
leonidas and emperor darius never met.
and much much else.

Actually the greatest of all the ancient empires was the Chinese, dude. That is historical truth. And just so you know, when Greece and Rome fell to S**t , guess who preserved the teachings of the likes of Plato, Aristotle etc.....The Middle East! History is great huh =D thinking you're the S**t but really, you should look into it some more

greece has a rich and great culture, not a poor one, and do you know why, because even though sparta fought with athens, at the same time they were both of hellene(greek) race and when it was required, they united to fight off the invading tyrants such as persia to defend and retain what the great area of europe and prevent asian(middle east) influence from spreading into europe. THAT IS WHY GREECE CULTURE IS GREAT! you see, i can be biased as well, the difference is, mine is fact in history!

all persia did, was combine the city states so to speak from the middle easttern area such as iran, lebanon etc etc to creae an empire. This is like trying to unify germany, poland, france together for the sole purpose of world domination, and we all know that mixing race and culture does not work, hence the reason PERSIA DOES NOT EXIST TODAY! persia consisted of a multitude of eastern races with different culture that is why they eventually fell to complete non existance!
