have you looked at a map of egypt between 1973 and 1979? israel got a stake of territory in egypt, and surrendered it and the entire sinai in exchange for peace, not because they were forced off by egyptians. i never said israel drove egyptian soldiers back across. israel itself breached the canal and surrounded the 3rd army, even after sadat had brought back several battalions a couple days before.

after 1973 israel had no troops in all the canal area the east bank OR on the west bank, they left all the west bank, they feared they lives. they didnt drive a single egyptian solidier from the east to the west

the US sent equipment like the soviets did to the arabs. they also prevented israel from destroying the 3rd army. israel had rough times during the war, seeing as it was outnumbered and outgunned, but still gained more territory and sustained less losses than the arabs.

i don't see how israel lost the october war. they had less losses, gained territory in egypt, downed more airplanes, drove the egyptians back across the canal, threatened cairo, and completely cut off the 3rd army. now how does that count as a loss?
