Om Babaji Namaha

Disciple Lahiri Mahasaya talking to his Guru Mahavatar Babaji about Kriya Yoga:
"'Angelic guru, as you have already favored mankind by resurrecting the lost Kriya art, will you not increase that benefit by relaxing the strict requirements for discipleship?' I gazed beseechingly at Babaji. 'I pray that you permit me to communicate Kriya to all seekers, even though at first they cannot vow themselves to complete inner renunciation. The tortured men and women of the world, pursued by the threefold suffering,7 need special encouragement. They may never attempt the road to freedom if Kriya initiation be withheld from them.'

"'Be it so. The divine wish has been expressed through you.' With these simple words, the merciful guru banished the rigorous safeguards that for ages had hidden Kriya from the world. 'Give Kriya freely to all who humbly ask for help.'

"After a silence, Babaji added, 'Repeat to each of your disciples this majestic promise from the Bhagavad Gita: "Swalpamasya dharmasya, trayata mahato bhoyat"-"Even a little bit of the practice of this religion will save you from dire fears and colossal sufferings."'8

"As I knelt the next morning at my guru's feet for his farewell blessing, he sensed my deep reluctance to leave him.

"'There is no separation for us, my beloved child.' He touched my shoulder affectionately. 'Wherever you are, whenever you call me, I shall be with you instantly.'

Hi SageKing (: It could have been any number, 108 just happens to be the number on most japa malas(and said to be an auspicious number).

True, what I've learned from the SRF Lessons has been priceless and for basically the cost of postage and photocopying. Thanks.

  • Thank you Lila. ...

Thank you Lila. Indeed, I remember the remark by Yogananda but 108 times? Two main proponents of Kriya Yoga were Hariharananda and Yogi Ramiah (both deceased). I have seen both and both were false teachers. It is brainwashing when their followers today tell people that they were "full realized" or that they represent Babaji. My main point is that there are a lot of false teachings in Kriya Yoga. That is why I humbly recommend that you do it on your own or if you must, go to SRF.

  • Hi SageKing, well, ...

Hi SageKing, well, it is said we are in Kali Yuga - the age of false prophets...

Babaji might not but Yogananda (the yogi he sent to the West, the founder of SRF) wrote in Chapt. 33 of AoY "'Whenever anyone utters with reverence the name of Babaji,' Lahiri Mahasaya [one of Babaji's greatest disciple] said, "that devotee attracts an instant spiritual blessing.'"

  • Lila, would you ...

Lila, would you agree that the people on the internet who are claiming to hold the teachings of Babaji ("Kriya Babaji", Yogi Ramiah, Govindan, etc.) really don't know Babaji and have no right to teach in his name?

PS I bet Babaji himself would not recommend that you repeat his name 108 times. Also, just because you are from India doesn't mean you can take what you know about yoga, bring it to the west and say it is the teaching of Babaji.

  • Hi Cristian, that ...

Hi Cristian, that is the late Swami Satchidananda as the role of Babaji. The Tamil movie was Rajnikanth's sincere tribute to the deathless Avatar.

Hindus and Buddhists (since 5th BC or so) have used these sacred hand symbols to lock and direct energy to ultimately realize the Divine. The freemasons only in later times (around the late 16th century) borrowed these symbols but put in their own meanings and often use them in public for recognition of status.

Oh my god i can`t belive you don`t see that this fake babaji is using at least 2 masonic signs. The first one is when he rises his hand to give the old man endless wisdom (when he rises those 2 fingers it means that he worship the devil..2 horns). The second one is when he admits that what he did was ok (at 3:17 minutes). Please be carefull what you are watching..it can alter your thoughts..what you`re thinking.Plese remove this video imediatelly.

Hi, you can chant it either way. When the mind is noisy one will probably find it easier to chant aloud. Chanting in the head may help one go more deeply within to the Source
