Aaron is not thaaat good (yet). Check at 2:03 HIS FAILURE when trying to hit a not that low note.
He just hit lower notes at live already...he needs to acquire constancy.
    =)

  • George was told ...

George was told years ago @ Stamps-Baxter School of Music that he should strive to be a "singer with a low voice" & NOT just a low singer. Maybe that's why he could handle both smooth solos as well as low notes.

Actually Aaron is a flat out good "singer". That's what Younce was. There is much more to being an outstanding bass than just singing low.

  • Rifleman, Totally ...

    Rifleman,
Totally agree. One reason I like McCune is because I feel he is a mixture of my three favorite basses: George Younce, Tim Riley and Richard Sterban. A bass connoisseur, I believe, can hear those three in him when he sings; not necessarily in solo's, but when singing with the group. Go see them in concert; he's hilarious. Tim Duncan,...well,... he looks good! (I love to get the SSQ fans stirred up. It doesn't take much.)

the thing about Aaron McCune and other bass singers is that they just have a different tamber to their voice than other bass singers.

  • Aaron McCune ...

Aaron McCune reminds of Big Chief. Don't really know what it is, but something he does in this video, reminds me of that great Bass.
