Not true UNo0b ! TI's emphasize is on swimming with a balanced and streamlined body.

The hand position varies from one individual to another, someone with high buoyancy will likely swim with a shallow hand position where as someone who is very lean may well have to go deeper to gain better balance.

This swimmer in the video is swimming with a horizontal body i.e. he is very balanced.

Do you feel you can achieve high hips by sinking the chest a bit? And maybe, not necessarily digging the water too deep? Just a thought.

  • It was like a bolt ...

It was like a bolt out of the blue to realize that a) your head/neck are 100% submerged, and b) did not do this for camera purposes. I watched this over a period of weeks before this occurred as 'different' to my eyes; senses. I will try it; usually in underwater laps like your 'no fins' video I find myself floating to the surface unwillingly (and very surprised to be there) if I do not wear a neckweight. Thank you again.

And if you post a video response (please do) with an explanation, I'm happy to experiment with whatever you present. I don't claim to have all the answers about swimming, but I've helped a lot of people swim with more confidence and speed and want to improve my own coaching, as well. So fire away! :)

For anyone who feels that this approach is wrong or whatever, I would appreciate a concise explanation of your position in simple terms that I can actually respond to rather than a flame attack. Flame attacks will not be posted.
