Went to Morocco in '93 - Marrakech was way cool. The orange juice was awesome (15 cents for a large glass). Looks like you went high dollar on your trip - my room was $5 a night and probably had a lot more character than what I saw in your post. The merchants were relentless, wanted me to buy everything and would literally grab at you to pull you in their stores. The port in Tangiers was interesting, lot's or people trying to take advantage of tourists.
