Can someone tell me the diffrence in the black and tan shephers and the more black ones? are they diffrent breeds? I have a black and tan female and would like to own a black one as well. Thinking of breeding so i NEED to know. . . thanks.

I grew up with a german shepard. Christy was her name...great loyal dogs...good with kids but they are very territorial and when they get older they have problems with thier vision, makes them a little more dangerous around kids and arthritis WILL take its toll on thier hips especially, just be aware of this cause watching this happen to a family member can be ruff ..

aww the puppy so cute! they look adorable together. but the truth is i really want a lab. germna shepards r my 2nd choice. i couldnt see the puppie's face at all! but its still cute

The GSD is an amazing dog breed, but it saddens me to read comments here expressing their affection towards them while not knowing the right name for them that is a "German Shepherd" or the full name, "German Shepherd Dog".
