A quick improvisational blues demo of the Park 45 top mount head by Marshall, say mid 60's? One pedal used halfway through for a bit of boost but the rest is how the amp sounds...except for the reverb on the desk.

  • Dude, Talent and ...

    Dude,

Talent and tone - a wicked combination. With that tone I can see you in a smokey bar somewhere rippin' it up. The sustain goes on for weeks.

You've obviously changed your pickups. Mind if I ask what are you using?

  • Thanks. I cannot ...

Thanks. I cannot remember precisely as it was 4 months ago...but probably mostly full on for everything and then tweaked to taste.....that's what I usually do and variety is the spice of life so best to avoid set settings and experiment.......also, different valves and transformers etc sound different so the equation gets even more convoluted.....

but the bright channel was definitely on full volume and the channels were not linked......I never link them....

i know he plays an SG. that doesnt mean that the sound is not similar. these days you can make just about anything sound like just about anything else. and yes, they are similar. crunchy and deep yet thin and piercing. i know what i'm talking about. just informing ya.

  • Yeah. I was using ...

Yeah. I was using a JMI era AC30 for the longest time (love that amp), but being that it's vintage, beat up, and in need of electronic work I found that the Hiwatt's were better for the road and my VOX is awesome in the studio.

By the way...killer sound and awesome guitar playing. I'll check out your other vids.

Cool man, there's a demo of that Hiwatt in my other vids....

I use the big hiwatt with 30 odd year old G12H's in a 4x12...very naughty, time for a change of plan methinks.....but the Hiwatt is a nice amp, I'm very fond of it....

Ahh the 200 Watter. I can tell it's a late 60's by the name tag. I have 2 Lead 30 combos and I built an early 70s DR103 clone. I'm a big Hiwatt fan.
