This is the first part of a 3 part tutorial on creating a tornado in Blender 3D. I'm using 2.48a. DISCLAIMER: I'm still a bit of a noob, so I'm sure there are better ways out there. This is just one workflow.

    Try adding the curve in front view. Or pressing the 3D button in the edit panel to change to a 3D curve. Also press Z for wireframe view.

    I noticed that the particles seam to be rotating clockwise, and since I live in the norther hemisphere I was wondering if it is possible to make the particles rotate counterclockwise.
