the interviewer, as it were, is Barry farber, a conservative polyglot radio host who is fluent in, I believe something like 13 languages. His inflection is certainly southern,not midwestern. Eastern north carolinian,perhaps?Burtons voice was the voice of God

The dichotomy between the interviewer's slightly nasal, white bread mid-western twang and Burton's elegant, rich baritone Welch accented voice is hilarious to me. It's like how to and how not to sound.

burtons hamlet was a F**king joke, he was awful, he's no actor, hes a piss head!

I fell in love with Burton when i was in high school in 1964.i bought 'Hamlet' and 'Under Milkwood',and watched 'The Spy Who came in from The Cold'.i went on to watch Whose afraid of Viginia Wolf'.'the Sanpipers','Night of the Iguana' The Comediens'and more, all because of Burton, what an actor.

Whatever! You can get it on DVD, you can argue about the semantics of what "being filmed" means. It was captured permanently through some method and you can watch it on DVD.

The Welsh have given the world some great talents; Dylan Thomas, Burton and Anthony Hopkins, who as a young actor was compared heavily to Burton. Cheers, Cymru!!

No it wasn't. It wasn't filmed. It was captured electronically using a high resolution camera (for its day) and broadcast live via closed circuit to movie theaters.

Yes, especially in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" which is one of my all-time favorites.

I,m also a welsh man and when i used to act on the stage i always looked for the way Burton would say things. A great voice for the theatre. R.I.P.

Richard Burton, my FAVORITE actor. But, some people do not know that he was regarded as the biggest as**ole in Hollywood. Also, he smoked 3 packs a day. check out the cig he's smoking in this clip.

Electronovision was merely filming the play Hamlet live and then showing it live in a movie theatre. Burton played Hamlet in New York in '64 and they filmed it and then showed it in movie theatres. You can get the DVD.

Richard Burton is just a man. Perhaps he was talking about the internet before his time. Perhaps a man told him and convinced him? We have all been told God is real. So don't blame Rich, perhaps it we come one day. It nearly has.
