On a summer's eve, swept by a cooling breeze
Two lovers stood, gazes shared
One was unstable, hot-tempered
The other gentle; he cared

Red was his hair, green were his eyes
The picture of beauty and light
With a smile as bright as sunshine
To him, life was a delight

This eve was the last eve
'Till the stars came crashing down
The sun would die cold
The birds will have flown

Tonight all that was
Ended quite subtly
Light died, hearts cracked
Happened it so abruptly

Ties of love and bonds of understanding
Severed brutally by death and spite
Shadows cast through the good
That night, he cried

And as lovers separated
One half left alive
Brilliant, valiant green eyes
Mourn their blue brides

"Please remember," whispered he
As tears did cascade down his face
"I miss you. I love you."
Then his heart fled for an empty space

He himself did deliver the final blow
Streams of red leak over black and white
A weight is lifted as the last star falls
Two lost lovers reunite
