King Jimmy is an historical port in Freetown. In the 18th century it was the centre of the slave trade in Sierra Leone.

Thousands of people were taken down the steps and put on boats to the Americas.

The area has been neglected for many years but still exists as a place where people live and work.

Produced by young people from iEARN :: Sierra Leone during Cafesociety.org digital storytelling workshops in May 2006

  • Oh the place is ...

Oh the place is very filthy like there is no city council, I knew Sierra Leone government, they are too care free, that place has remained filthy like that for past three decades, what they know is just from the taxpayers to their pocket, they can never do nothing for the country as it is dotorating... But I pray that during this election we'll have a good leader for the country. Thomas Gbondo.Australia.
