The name of the movie is Shaolin vs Wutang.

The Elder monk doesn't believe that Tat Chi (Yun Kit) is capable of representing the Shaolin at the contest...so he decides to fight him to test him out.

i can see why ppl might make the mistake...But it's not the fight scene in 36 Chambers when Gordon Liu tries to prove his worth as an advanced monk. This is the fight scene when Gordon Liu is proving his worth as a representative to fight against the Wutang fighter in a tournament concocted by the Lord to make Shaolin and Wutang kill each other.
