Yes, just different names in different markets.

For the sedan it appears it's called Yaris in America and Canada, Belta in Japan, and Vios in other parts of Asia. The hatchback is called Yaris in America (only available in a 3 door hatch so as not to compete with the similiar Scion xA/xD, which are 5 door hatches, which are/were both sold as the Toyota ist in Japan), Canada, and Europe (available in both a 3 and 5 door in both), and Vitz in Japan.

Got one on order, trading in my full size extended cab 4X4 gas hog. Looking forward to lowering my environmental footprint...oh and save a ton on gas.

yaris is great on gas and drives fine americans and canadians will take a while to get used to small cars , stupid to see big freakin trucks and with just the driver in it and they talk about pollution
