In A Mirror Darkly Sequence - Escape of TOS Defiant

While I hate to admit this...I'm a 40 year fan of the show. OMG! That long. All versions of this classic rock! They all got cheesy from time to time and some episodes were downright dumb while other's exceeded even the highest expectations (City on the Edge of Forever / Doomsday Machine / Best of Both Worlds for an example). Each version is a reflection of the times. So TOS/ANIMATED/TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT fans should look at the big picture and be glad that lucas didn't get his hands on any of it

First appearance of Defiant was "The Tholian Web".

The only sequence where an old TOS ship is uber powerful, lol!

Could someone post this whole story and the episode where the Defiant first appears in the original series?

Also, too bad that they are building the new Star Trek movie around the bridge set that they constructed for Mirror...

TNG continued the story just fine, as for being the "best" it was the friggin flagship and Picard handpicked the entire senior staff. You think he'd pick people he wouldn't work fine with? With TOS Kirk didn't pick the crew so it made sense they'd clash more often.

And even firing at the same spot wouldn't have damaged that Borg Cube, that worked solely because Picard knew from his connection that particular spot at that specific moment was vulnerable.

Dont you have any desire of a continuing story? I admit, I used to love TOS and hate everything else, but then I explored Voyager, then Deep Space Nine then Enterprise. They are all very good on continuing the story. TNG however, I still hate. They have to be the biggest and the best all the time, and recieve medals for obvious thing. (Hey dumbfucks, if you fire all at the same spot, OF COURSE it would give maximum damage.)

This was a good story in of itself. Pity it was wasted on Enterprise with Scott Bakula's bad acting. If this would have been done with the TNG crew it would have been fantastic.

Fine, but don't blow a gasket when they simply interpret things not properly defined in previous series in a way different from your preconceptions.

I have my problems with the series, but at least I don't immediately blame it all on Berman and Braga and bothered researching the people really responsible and the actual problems beyond "OMG teh Consituzions dun't hav aft torpedos!"

I was with this all my life so naturally I happen to give a damn when a beloved childhood memory is being raped by executuves who have turned Star Trek into nothing more than cash cow to be milked to death rather being one great visionaries dream of a mankind who rises above its limitations.

And its not being a Nazi. Is saying George Washington being the 1st US president being a Nazi? No, because iits documented set in stone fact. Thus saying TOS era Constituions can never be nazi-ish because its a set in stone absolute fact with documentation to support it.
